SUNRISE FOR SEA TURTLES

Coastal Expeditions Foundation summer intern Parker Pound with a sea turtle hatchling

Experience a Morning in the Life of the Turtle Team

Join us for a special fundraising BEACH DROP expedition that takes you behind the scenes of sea turtle conservation in Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge.

Departing before sunrise, we’ll travel by boat to Bulls Island and walk the beach alongside our naturalists in search of fresh turtle crawls and newly laid nests before the tide erases the night’s activity. Along the way, you’ll learn how the sea turtle team locates, protects, and monitors nests, helping safeguard thousands of loggerhead sea turtles each nesting season.
