Exploring the Places We Love.
Since 1992, we’ve been on a mission to put people safely and securely in the path of beauty to experience meaningful things. As guides and storytellers, we delight in sharing all that we know about the Lowcountry – its lands and waters, its plants and animals and people, and its history and culture – with everyone we meet.
We’re here to make the water trails accessible through to as many people as we can to create connections with nature. From our waterside locations spanning from Cape Romain NWR down to Beaufort on the South Carolina coast, we’re able to offer tours, rentals and programs that give you a meaningful experience in nature. We hope you’ll want to find out more about Coastal Expeditions and what we do.

Coastal Expeditions Foundation

Protecting the Places We Explore.
In 2018, our owner, Chris Crolley, started the foundation so that we could join other environmental groups to fight for the reconstruction of a seabird nesting island in Charleston Harbor. This seabird sanctuary, Crab Bank, is one of only five along the South Carolina coast and we knew that we had to act quickly to prevent an irreversible interruption in our local seabird populations.
Following the success of this project, we knew that we had a moral obligation to protect the places we explored every day.
Our focus areas are loggerhead sea turtle nest protection in Cape Romain NWR, seabird nesting islands and environmental education. You could say that we’re committed to the next generation of Earthlings: hatchlings and kids.
