OUTDOOR SCHOOL
EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS
Some of our most meaningful educational partnerships are with organizations and school districts in the Lowcountry who share our mission of connecting students with the outdoors.
Through these partnership programs, Coastal Expeditions educators implement field trips and programs that reflect the mission of the partner organization.
If you are interested in and environmental education partnership with Coastal Expeditions, contact our Education Director, Katie Morrison.

CURRENT PROGRAMS
SOUTH CAROLINA OUTDOOR EDUCATION PROGRAM (SCOEP)
For nearly a decade, Coastal Expeditions has led kayaking field trips through SCOEP, a fully-funded program primarily for middle school students in the Andrews, SC area. Departing from the Black River Cypress Preserve (BRCP), these field trips are designed to further the mission of BRCP: “Inspire, activate, and educate citizens about the extraordinary blackwater swamps and native pinelands of the South Carolina Coastal Plain”. Through a generous grant from Butler Conservation, these field trips are free for local students.
O.W.L. PROGRAM AT WINDWOOD FARMS
Coastal Expeditions educators visit the Windwood Farms campus in Awendaw, SC weekly, teaching the children who live at this boys home outdoor skills and ecology. The Outdoor Wilderness Leadership (O.W.L.) program is designed to teach lifelong skills, provide positive male role models, and connect them to the riverside campus.
