This is your opportunity to get involved in one of the most impactful wildlife conservation efforts in the Lowcountry. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or just turtle-curious, all are welcome!

What to Expect at the Meeting

This year’s volunteer meeting will include two engaging presentations:

•  Loggerhead Sea Turtle Nesting Learn about the fascinating nesting behavior of loggerhead sea turtles and how you can help protect their nests and hatchlings during the 2025 nesting season.

•  Shorebird and Seabird Projects Discover the vital role Cape Romain plays in protecting migratory and resident bird species—and how volunteers contribute to their success.

After the presentations, enjoy light refreshments and a chance to mingle with fellow volunteers, chat with refuge staff, and ask questions about upcoming volunteer opportunities. This is the perfect time to get plugged into summer programs like turtle nest monitoring, shorebird stewardship, and more.

Why Volunteer at Cape Romain?

Volunteers are a key part of this mission, assisting with nest monitoring, data collection, public education, and more. It’s a rare opportunity to connect with wildlife and give back to the coast we all love.
