Out of all the jobs you could have chosen, why do you work for Coastal Expeditions?
Coastal Expeditions is work with purpose. I show up each day knowing that I am fulfilling my values and contributing to an important cause. Each day is unique. One day you might be exploring on Bulls Island and the next day kayaking down through the cypress-tupelo swamp.
What is your favorite part of working with Coastal Expeditions?
1. Lowcountry kids. Bringing kids from all backgrounds out into nature. I love that with Coastal Expeditions we can create opportunities for kids to connect, engage, and inquire about our local environment through experiential learning.
2. Everyday is different! Activities within a month include: Shark tooth hunting, hiking on Bulls Island, kayaking, paddleboarding, birding, fishing, etc.
3. The team! Being surrounded by like-minded individuals who are equally as excited to work at Coastal.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Birding, nature photography, going on the boat and to the beach, spending time with friends and family, and hanging with my pup, Cooper.
What is your favorite nature experience?
Love it all BUT… I really can’t stop, won’t stop, birding. SOOOO MANY birds in the Lowcountry. On Bulls Island we have over 299 different species come through a year, including some of our favorites… red knots, black skimmers, white pelicans, and THE AMERICAN FLAMINGO.. What?!
What is something that you are really passionate about?
Environmental education, conservation, and friends and family
