Coastal Warriors Paddle Newly Added Section of the Black River State Park
Members of the Coastal Expeditions Foundation’s Coastal Warriors joined the Open Space Institute on a paddle down the Black River to celebrate the addition of this new stretch of water trail to the Black River State Park. This section of the river was funded by CEF partner Boeing South Carolina.

To celebrate the acquisition of a new stretch of the Black River to connect another section in South Carolina’s newest state park, Open Space Institute invited the Coastal Warriors on a day-long friends-and-family paddle.
In addition to service projects, the Coastal Warriors program arranges outings for friends and family members of veterans to come out on kayak tours from different locations in the Lowcountry. These paddles are designed to strengthen bonds with their support system and foster a shared interest in paddling and the outdoors.
This beautiful water trail was acquired through a Boeing grant, significantly adding to the corridor of permanently protected land and water in the Andrews, SC area.

Friends and family of Coastal Warriors came along for this fun day on the Black River with Open Space Institute.
