Coastal Expeditions’ Chris Crolley Speaking on the Power of Partnership in Conservation
The South Carolina Resilience Conference is April 7-9, 2025 in Greenville, South Carolina.
This conference “assembles leaders, innovators, and advocates from diverse fields under one roof to delve into pressing issues, share insights, and forge collaborative pathways toward a healthier, more sustainable future. Together, we have the power to inspire change, catalyze action, and chart a course towards a more resilient South Carolina, Southeast Region, and USA for generations to come.”

Capt. Chris Crolley will be joining other conservation leaders from South Carolina and region to give a presentation about the Power of Partnership, highlighting environmental projects in the state that could not have happened with collaboration between organizations, government agencies and the community.
The Coastal Expedition Foundation was founded in 2017 to become part of the collaborative effort to save Crab Bank Seabird Sanctuary. The foundation has continued with this mindset of partnership, working to elevate the missions of other environmental non-profits including Charleston Waterkeeper, Open Space Institute, Lowcountry Land Trust, The Nature Conservancy, Audubon SC and Coastal Conservation League.
The SC Resilience Conference is one of many initiatives of SC7, a partnership project between two South Carolina non-profit organizations, the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor and Global Eco Adventures.

The Save Crab Bank Paddle
In late 2018, the Coastal Expeditions Foundation organized a paddle to the rapidly disappearing Crab Bank Seabird Sanctuary and nearly 200 kayakers from the Charleston community raised their paddles in support of renourishing this crucial nesting island. This project was the beginning of the foundation and set the course for how we work.
