Volunteer Meeting for Sea Turtles

Are you passionate about sea turtles, shorebirds, and conservation on the South Carolina coast? Here’s your chance to make a difference. Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge is hosting a Sea Turtle Volunteer Meeting on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Sewee Visitor & Environmental Education Center in Awendaw, SC—and you’re invited. Whether you live nearby or you’re looking for a way to get more involved in coastal conservation, we encourage you to attend. Help us protect the future of sea turtles and seabirds in one of the most important refuges on the Atlantic Coast. No RSVP needed—just show up and bring your enthusiasm! Join The Coastal Expeditions Foundation for a comprehensive litter sweep of Sullivans Island. This family-friendly volunteer event is a great way to take care of the places that take care of us! Family-friendly 80 spots - signups required! Meet at Sullivans Island Elementary (2014 Mike Perkis, Place, Sullivans Island, SC 29482) Parking is available in the school parking lot or off the side streets in the area. We will initially gather in front of the school to go over the itinerary for the day and walk down the beach together. The Coastal Expeditions Foundation will provide all cleanup materials.
