ST. HELENA SUNSET CRUISE

Overview

Boat Ecotour

Enjoy sunset in the salt marsh on this great family tour!

Located at the gateway to the ACE Basin, this laid-back boat cruise into the estuary is the perfect way to end a Lowcountry day. Watch the sky fade into a haze of pinks and purples as we look for wildlife like dolphins, ibises, bald eagles and pelicans.

As shorebirds and wading birds flock back to their nightly roosts and the dolphins meander through the creeks, you’ll be taken by the sweeping views across fields of marsh grass and the saturated coastal light.

Why We Love It

This is one of our favorite tours to offer.  These evening hours in the salt marsh can be pure magic.

Whether you’re coming from Fripp Island, Hunting Island State Park or Beaufort, this is a great way to see the beauty of these sea islands.

LOOKING OUT FOR WILDLIFE

On Coastal Expeditions tours, we are careful not to do any thing that interferes with a wild animal’s natural behavior. On our dolphin tours, we follow practices that are taught to us by the Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network to ensure that we never cause Atlantic bottlenose dolphins or other any other wildlife stress.

Dolphins are curious and gregarious by nature, and when they appear near the boat, we cut off the engines and enjoy their presence.

Activity Level

This tour is suitable for most ages and abilities. You will be on the boat for the duration of the tour and it designed to be a relaxing estuary cruise.

The 1.5 hour St.Helena Sunset Cruise is great for intergenerational families and young children.
