Shem Creek Sunset Kayak Tour

Overview

When dusk hits each evening, everything changes on the tidal creek.  The water tends to smooth out into glass and the fractured light makes everything from the shrimp boats to the great blue herons take on a richer tone.   This time of day, we often have the creek to ourselves.

On your sunset kayak tour, your guide will share information about the local wildlife and tell you stories about Charleston’s multi-faceted history, giving you a deeper look at the Lowcountry.

Why We Love It

Birds like egrets and ibises fly overhead in big flocks as they return to roost.  Dolphins swim lazily in the creek, breaching regularly nearby our kayaks.  In the summers, we often get a glimpse of a manatee coming up to take a breath.
