Overview
At first glance, it’s easy to dismiss the idea of a sunrise tour, especially if you’re on vacation. But our sunrise tours get some of the best reviews and are a guide favorite- especially in the dog days of summer. We promise that the hardest part is the waking up.
Once you arrive at the outpost for the sunrise kayak tour, you’ll get fitted to your kayaks and gear and we’ll get going so that we don’t miss the daybreak. We’ll paddle across the glassy water to a vantage point between islands to catch the first look of the sun breaking over the Atlantic Ocean and watch the salt marsh come alive.
Clapper rails and marsh wrens will begin their distinctive calls from within the Spartina grass. Laughing gulls will chatter overhead and dolphins will feed within the protected waters. The sky will take on hues of pink and orange, reflecting in glossy surface of the water. As the sun edges up from its nightly slumber, you’ll get a moment to reflect and give thanks for the opportunity to be in this beautiful ecosystem in the Carolina salt marsh.
