Kiawah River Full Moon Kayak Tour

Overview

What is it about the pull of a full moon? Everything reacts.
The tides, wildlife, us.

If you see a big moon rising in the sky, you’ll become transfixed, whether you’re looking at out of your car window or from a back porch.  And that’s what makes our monthly full moon paddles one of the best things we offer.

Departing from our Kiawah River Outpost, this excursion begins before sunset when we prepare you for your adventure, fitting you to the gear and teaching you how to sea kayak.   Once on the water, we’ll paddle out to see the sun set and moon rise over the horizon from the best vantage point.

As the salt marsh settles in for the day’s end, you watch flocks of native birds go to roost and notice the estuary becoming more quiet. We’ll paddle under the silvery moonlight before using it to lead us back to the dock.

Whether it’s your first time paddling or you’re an experienced, paddler, you’ll leave this tour with memories of time well spent.  And maybe you’ll feel a little different after being pulled by the moon.
