    Are you passionate about sea turtles, shorebirds, and conservation on the South Carolina coast? Here’s your chance to make a difference. Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge is hosting a Sea Turtle Volunteer Meeting on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Sewee Visitor & Environmental Education Center in Awendaw, SC—and you’re invited. Whether you live nearby or you’re looking for a way to get more involved in coastal conservation, we encourage you to attend. Help us protect the future of sea turtles and seabirds in one of the most important refuges on the Atlantic Coast. No RSVP needed—just show up and bring your enthusiasm! This family-friendly volunteer event is a great way to take care of the places that take care of us! Family-friendly Meet at The Sands in Port Royal Coastal Expeditions and Beaufort Litter Patrol will provide all clean up materials. Please dress for the weather and wear close-toed shoes and a hat.  Bring a filled water bottle. (community)

Family-friendly 25 spots Meet at Garris Landing (498 Bulls Island Road, Awendaw, SC 29429) The Coastal Expeditions Foundation will provide all cleanup materials. Please dress for the weather and wear close-toed shoes and a hat.  Bring a filled water bottle.

    Join The Coastal Expeditions Foundation for a comprehensive litter sweep of Sullivans Island. This family-friendly volunteer event is a great way to take care of the places that take care of us! Family-friendly 80 spots available!  Meet at Sullivans Island Elementary (2014 Mike Perkis, Place, Sullivans Island, SC 29482) Parking is available in the school parking lot or off the side streets in the area. We will initially gather in front of the school to go over the itinerary for the day and walk down the beach together. The Coastal Expeditions Foundation will provide all cleanup materials. Please dress for the weather and wear close-toed shoes and a hat.  Bring a filled water bottle.   (community)

Sullivans Island Beach Sweep Date: FRIDAY, MAY 29TH, 2026 Time: 4-6 P.M.Meetup Location: Sullivans Island Elementary (2014 Mike Perkis Pl, Sullivans Island, SC 29482)Parking is available in the school parking lot or off the side streets in the area! All ages, family event! Coastal Expeditions Foundation will provide supplies for the beach clean up.
