Follow Migratory Birds Down This Scenic River

Characterized by deep, dark pools and sandy beaches, this gently winding river is a nature lover's dream. As it meanders through cypress-tupelo swamp, the lower Little Pee Dee constitutes many different streams, creating a maze of hidden passageways through ancient cypress knees.

Designated a Scenic River by the Department of Natural Resources, the Little Pee Dee is home to abundant wildlife, and certain times of year provide exellent opportunities to see migratory birds like swallow-tailed kites and prothonotary warblers.

If you are looking for a kayak expedition that takes you places that you wouldn't be able to see otherwise, this is the trip to take.  We'll gently paddle down water trails that will maximize your wildlife opportunities, and the quiet rhythm of the kayaking will allow us to really get in sync with the natural world.

The history within this area of the Lowcountry was dominated by rice culture, and our guides will take you back in time as they share stories about the plantation life that shaped the way our ancestors once lived.
