Paddle to a Historic Charleston Lighthouse
The Morris Island Lighthouse has been a fixture in Charleston history and has survived the ravages of war, erosion, hurricanes and time. There is no better way to view it than to paddle by and feel its towering presence.
This full-day tour combines history, architectural achievement and sublime beauty and can only be described as awe-inspiring. Leaving from our Folly Creek location by the Crosby's Dock, we will wind through the estuary on our way to the lighthouse, stopping on a hammock island for lunch beneath the shade of palmettos and live oaks.
This exploration will give us a good opportunity to see dolphins, sea turtles and other inhabitants of the estuary. Join us for this great paddle to Morris Island Lighthouse and see history from a new perspective.
