IT'S MORE THAN JUST KAYAKS AND BOATS

What we've realized in the 25 years that we've been navigating the waters around Charleston is that it takes more than just a good boat and a livery of kayaks to have the kind of business we want to be in.  For our company to have a heartpath, we have to invest in our employees, the community and the surrounding environment.

At our core, we value the work that the local and regional conservation groups are doing to protect the lands and waters we love. With our partnerships with these organizations, we look for ways to help them achieve their missions through fundraisers, donations and facilitating events.

To help to develop future generations of environmentalists, we focus a large portion of our energy on educating students of all ages.  Through the Island Quest Field Trip program, students from middle school through college can visit Bulls Island with a naturalist and learn school-based curriculum about the unique ecosystem of this barrier island.  Kayaking on Shem Creek and the Black River is made possible through the South Carolina Outdoor Education Program, a field trip provides more than just environmental education; it encourages team work and exercise as well.

Throughout the year, we coordinate creek and beach sweeps, family days,  and fundraising events like the Folly Doggy Paddle and Sea Turtle Expeditions.

This is the heart of Coastal Expeditions.
