Eric Mills

Children's author, musician, naturalist guide. Eric does it all. Drawn by the pull of the Atlantic tides, Eric enjoys sunsets, long walks on the beach and pina coladas.  We are lucky that Eric's sandy path led him to Coastal Expeditions because over the years, he has become crucial to our success. He is a lead guide for our REI Adventures Coastal Kayaking Adventure and is the Outreach Manager for our company, working with the Charleston community and other businesses to keep us involved.  Look for him playing with guide Cory Brown in Lumberjack Time-traveler and pick up a copy of Robots Don't Wear Sunscreen!

FAVORITE COASTAL EXPEDITIONS TOUR TO LEAD:  Folly Creek is beautiful, serene, yet high energy, including strand feeding dolphin and diving birds.  This, along with it rich contribution to the historical context of the lowcountry, (The site of one of the first, and only one of two lighthouses standing in the America after the Revolution, & the site of some of the most significant Civil war history anywhere) and a leisure paddle with a beach picnic, shelling and R & R at the midway point, make the full day Morris Island Paddle my favorite trip.  It is all encompassing and beautiful!
FAVORITE WILDLIFE TO SEE ON TOUR: I'll never get tired of seeing dolphin from a kayak, but black skimmers feeding at dawn and dusk ranks right up there!
TELL US ABOUT LUMBERJACK TIME-TRAVELER, YOUR BAND WITH FELLOW GUIDE CORY BROWN:  LJTT is a funk/jazz/alternative hip-hop band.  The live shows are particularly fun, but be sure to get there early to to get front row before the groupies try to edge you out and nudge their way to the front.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT WORKING FOR COASTAL EXPEDITIONS?  As a company we are very true to our mission, and are doing this for the right reasons.  But really the people at Coastal make this place the best: Fun, funny, smart, hard-working and never yeilding a dull moment!
